Our security system we are using requires broadband as it I.P. I have been informed by Interwatch Security that broadband will be improving over the next 12 months and the speed will increase. Just be glad you weren't here when Broadband was first introduced on the island. There were SO many problems. My husband and sons knew more than the CYTA engineers at times. It's a lot better than it was. Bizarrely, we pay less than you do, which is odd. Our i-choice 1 meg connection is 17.25 (inc VAT) per month, plus the netrunner sub of 13.80. And our basic line rental is 6.95 plus VAT. Sometimes I think they make it all up as they go along. They're hopeless with sorting out billing... we used to get about eight different bills. One phone, one i-choice, and six for the office. We asked to consolidate into two separate bills... big mistake. We still get one of the office ones on our home bill - we gave up trying to sort that one out after they continued making new (wrong) attempts to get it right for about four months. On the other hand, when we moved house it was very easy. The engineer cut us off at the old house and installed at the new one a day later. We also took our number with us. So they do beat BT there. Oh, and for future reference, Areeba don't charge any extra fee to non-home-owners for their contract mobiles. Ha. Just be glad you weren’t here when Broadband was first introduced on the island.
